Reishi Deluxe is a combination of 100% pure mycelium of Ganoderma Lucidum, and a 15:1 extract from its fruitbody, using advanced bio-engineering technology. The pure mycelium is free from the substrate in which it grows. It is manufactured in capsule form in Canada under tight quality control.
In the past, one had to consume large quantities of the mushroom (fruitbody) to feel any effect. The fruitbody of Reishi is a hard, wood-like mushroom with a large amount of indigestible fiber. Because of its hard cell membrane, much of its active ingredients go through the gastrointestinal system undigested. Only a portion of the active ingredients can be absorbed. Before 1970, the fruitbody of wild Reishi was the only form available because all attempts to grow Reishi were unsuccessful.
Scientific research in the last thirty years has shown that the mycelium of Reishi contains high levels of the active ingredients which mainly consist of polysaccharides. But more recent research has shown that some important active ingredients such as triterpenoids, proteins, and germanium are more abundant in the fruitbody.
Wild Reishi is rare and suffers from adverse environmental conditions such as insect infestation, lack of proper nutrients, temperature, or humidity. The timing of the harvest cannot be controlled, and the mature Reishi has already lost most of its digestible active ingredients. The active ingredients in the dried mushroom may also lose much of their biological activities. The 6 different types of Reishi (in different colors) recorded in Chinese pharmacopoeia are actually one species grown under different conditions. In 1972, a Japanese researcher who pioneered the growing of Reishi demonstrated that by varying the conditions of growth, Reishi in 6 different colors can be grown from the same species.
By providing the ideal conditions for growth, Rejuveno has produced the best mycelium and fruitbody of Reishi, harvested at precisely the right time. Using bio-engineering technology, the active ingredients are carefully extracted from the pure mycelium and fruitbody, then made into capsules. The fruitbody extract includes all the active ingredients of the fruitbody as well as the spores.
Most of the Reishi capsules available on the market today contain a mixture of Reishi with other herbs or fillers. Most of the other Reishi mycelium capsules contain the grain in which it grows. Reishi Deluxe is 100% pure Reishi with no other additive. An experienced herbalist can taste the difference after opening the capsules. Most of the active ingredients in Reishi Deluxe are 3-5 times more abundant than the same quantity of ordinary Reishi.
Suggested Use: Take 2 capsules 2 times a day. Best taken one hour before or one hour after meals. Also take 500mg of vitamin C (preferrably Rejuveno Ester-C Plus) with each capsule of Reishi Deluxe.
